I ‘m over that. I want to look my best and not chase an elusive younger.
So I thought I’d share a few of my favorites with you today.
Before any makeup is applied, it starts with eating right and drinking lots of water. We all know that, right?
I’ve recently discovered the benefits of using a primer on my face.
After cleansing and applying a moisturizer, I now apply a primer.
This Loreal Magic Lumi-Light infusing primer was $11 from a drug store and gives my face a smooth and toned canvas to start with.
Loreal touts its effects as “instantly boosting skin’s natural radiance with light infusing luminizers.”
I would agree.
I’m pretty simple with my make-up. Sometimes this primer is all I use. In fact, most days it is. I save foundation for special events or outings.
Anti-aging? Oops. Well it’s their branding – not my fault.
I apply it with a few taps of my finger under and around my eyes.
It helps with puffiness, crow’s feet, dark circles, dullness and blotchiness and it’s loaded with vitamins and minerals, cucumber extract and aloe vera.
All good for my skin. All for $18.00.
I love my “Painterly” color of MAC Pro Longwear Paint Pots.
It’s a perfect soft blush color, goes on creamy and dries to a subtle light cover for my lids.
It’s the one on the left.
There are many fun colors – but Painterly is a good basic.
And I like Laura Mercier eye shadows,
especially in Fresco and Buttercream.
and inner corners of eyes lightens. It’s not a stark white and there is no glitter.
Both good things.
The Fresco is a rose/pink color that looks good in the crease of my eyes
and it can double as a blush,
which makes it a great choice
My eyebrow pencil and brush in one is a light color because I’m blonde.
It’s easy and natural and enhances my blonde brows so that they’re not invisible.
I spray it on this brush from Target and dab around my face and neck – for a healthy finish on my skin.
Our skin, at any age, can use the soothing and healthy ingredients against toxins in our environment.
It’s also nice to spray directly on my face before applying a night cream and going to bed. The E.L.F. line, by the way, is from Target too.
And these are my three go-to, replace over and over lip colors.
Each shade gives my lips a natural look – just enhanced:
Burt’s Bees “Red Dahlia”, Bobbi Brown “Brownie” and Aveda ‘s Natural Lip Glaze.
Burt’s Bees and Aveda have nutrients in them for your lips.
Do you have any favorites?
Beauty, to me, is about health and energy and looking my best
with as little fuss as possible.
I don’t need to look younger.
As Popeye would say, “I am what I am.”
We are beautiful, at any age!
It’s a smile and a sparkle in our eyes that make us appealing.
Don’t you think?
