Oblation

An oblation is a gift or offering.

This oblation is for you in pinks and reds, creams and periwinkles with a little silver and gold sprinkled in for the shine that is love.

No calories just to look. Right?

The bee’s knees:

It’s almost February.

Love is in the air.

I heart you. All of you. Each of you. If you had a decorated shoebox, I’d drop my favorite, very best Valentine in it. Especially for you. But you’re way out there and I’m all the way over here – so I offer you this oblation instead. With thoughts just as fond and holding you still as dear.

Wow, it is almost Valentines Day. I remember those boxes we used to make in grade school. I always appreciated the teachers who required us to share a valentine with everyone – no hurt feelings or embarrassment.

A few of those pictures make me want to go get a cookie! I heart you back! :)

Thank you for the beautiful morning valentine. The sun is actually shining here today. WE haven’t seen her in these parts for two weeks. Only temperatures in the 20s and smog and inversion. Therefore, valentines and sunshine are a wonderful new way to start my day. I think I’ll go sew.

Thank you for both the contact sugar high and the wonderful memory of those Valentine’s Day boxes from elementary school. Do they still do that?

Remember the days of construction paper Valentines? So much fun. This felt good… like that.

Yes I do, BLW. Folding the pink and red construction paper in half to draw our symmetrical heart before cutting out, the white doilies, the glitter….wow that was a lifetime ago. I can see my elementary school classrooms now.

In search of the real thing, Brenda? Then add a frothy cappuccino to your order, sit down and enjoy. Slowly. Deliciously. ;)

I look and enjoy and then forget about it, Anyes. I remember how good it feels not to indulge too much in sugar. I try to look at them as art. Is this working? Helping? If not, just go have a cookie.
